A painting of majestic Mt. Fuji and a dragon in a black cloud leading to heaven.
This piece featuring Hokusai's geometric design of Mt. Fuji is painted in black ink touch technique. The dragon, known for summoning black clouds when ascending to heaven, perhaps resembles the aging artist himself.
This work is marked the year of his birth as well as the year of his death. Thus this work is considered a significant piece produced close to his death.
